It's not you it's me is a cliche.

If the person loves you then you can't really finish with them without hurting them, sorry. The best way really is to be honest about your feelings and explain it straight up.

Don't worry about Karma unless your intentions were ever bad. We all make mistakes and most people have to break up with at least a few people as they move through life.

A lot depends on how long you have been together, but it is very hard to break up with someone without upsetting them. Platitudes like "it's not you, it's me" or "things aren't going as we want them to..." won't really help the situation. The best thing is to tell the truth, and wherever possible to avoid crushing his feelings by saying e.g. that you've met someone else.

Wow. How thoughtful. Put yourself in his place - how would you like to be let down? That will be the most natural way for you. He'll hurt, look at the kind woman he is losing. You'll probably miss having him there. BUT you are making a good decision rather than hanging on or cheating.

First, be sure that you are ready to completely break up.
That means that you are ready to let go.
Be sure that you are ready to see him with some one else and out with his friends. Alot of people break up before they are ready to accept these facts and then find themselves in an unhappy spot.
If you are ready, the best way to cut a guy loose is to tell him that you simply don't want to be with him. Do not say that you still care and that you still want to hang out. That will only send mixed messages.

Just tell him it is not working for you, and you don't think it is fair to continue the relationship when you feel it is only one sided and it best to end now rather than lead him on, with him thinking there is a future, when you know, deep in your heart there is not.
Explain, that you feel enough for him to enjoy his company, but should let him go and find someone who will appreciate him more than you do!

Don't use any cliche's and try to be as considerate as possible. Be honest and say what you feel. And I hate to state the obvious, but do it in person if you really don't want to hurt the person. BTW not hurting the person is going to be impossible no matter how you do it, if said person is really in love with you.

aahh sorry, but you can't finish with someone without hurting them...if they still wanna be with you they are gonna be hurt.

The kindest thing is to be honest and straight up, and don't mess them about afterwards - e.g. sleeping with them if you miss them, or are having doubts etc. It gets so messy that way and makes it so much harder for you both to move on.

Good luck - it is so so hard I know, but it's no good for him either to be with you if it's not right x

You can't. But you do have to talk to him. You have a right to be with someone you love and he has a right to be with someone who loves him. The longer you put it off the more difficult it will become. Take some time and figure out what your going to say.

Do you mean "finish" or break up? If you mean "finish", say "OK, I got a meeting in ten minutes, get your pants on and go about your day". If you mean break up, say: "I really don't love you anymore, any you really deserve someone who does. Don't think of this as me dumping you, think of this as me letting you go" Pretty good, eh?
