Well, it all depends what sort of camera! Are we talking 'single lens reflex', 'twin lens reflex', 'rangefinder' or???

Any edition of the 'Focal Encyclopaedia of Photography' , or the Ilford counterpart, would yield what you seek.

This may not be your best answer by a long way, but may I suggest you look around for anyone who owns a 35mm SLR camera, and ask if they have an instruction manual? Most of these manuals give plenty details, and may be of help.

Failing that, check out your local library, and find a book on basic photography. These usually cover the subject with regard to your question.

you can go to a library and look in the camera section. i'm sure they have books with pictures of every part of a camera and how it works.
