Every morning before the work day starts, my entire office has a prayer for peace.

Stan B,

My response is along the lines of Blackacre. That is, I know that there will be no peace. I don't know if he meant that, but that's what I mean. I try for peace around me, but not being expectant of it where it cannot happen.

This isn't the only time in history where has been true;
Jeremiah 6:13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

See how the children of Ishmael covets the land of Israel? That's what I mean. The time for the conflict is just not going to end on a prayer, for God has said that there won't be any. In fact, the wars and conflicts will only increase. And the Antichrist will come to make peace, but a false peace. That's when there will be peace in the Middle East, when Antichrist comes, that's one reason why the world will love him.

I think one has to look at that question 2 ways. Remember Jesus said; Think not that I come to bring peace but a sword. " Also we know according to the Word of The Lord there shall be no peace till The Lord of Hosts (Jesus) comes again. So if you are praying for the peace of Jesus coming then yes, if for other peace no because it is contrary to the Word of the Lord. Because there can be no real peace while sinful man is calling the shots here on earth. The news from the world daily more than confirms that. Satan and his must be sealed in the Lake of Fire first.

You know, that's a good question. I actually don't pray for 'peace.' I pray for many things, especially my family, children, missionaries, friends, church leaders, world leaders, etc. but I have a difficult time praying for 'peace' because I know what God's word, the Bible, says. It says specifically that there will be no peace in the world until after the 2nd coming of Christ and his 1000 year reign when He will send satan/his fallen army to eternal hell. So, realistically I don't expect 'peace' to prevail until then. I do expect the world to become increasingly more evil and chaotic until then. I believe God's word.

I pray for peace, understanding, and kindness. I wish more people would. Then maybe our world wouldn't be turning into to such a horrible place. I also pray for my children because at this rate by the time they are my age they won't be able to open their front door......sad really.

The only way you are going to have peace is when there is no more religion. Religion is behind most wars.
