I love fruit, especially from private orchards. So when I see these delicious looking pears, and the price (HOLY COW), I have to wonder if they are really that much better than grocery store pears.

Yes, but get the Maverick Royal Rivieras not the Regular Royal Rivieras. They are about half the price. Same pear but slightly mis-shapen or off color.

Do not eat like a regular pear-Keep cold and cut in half and eat like a Grapefruit with a spoon. Excellent.

They are awesome. When I had them in the house, the candy dish actually stayed full. My son prefered the pears over chocolate when he wanted something sweet. They are much better than the regular pears.

They are pretty amazing. I send them once a year to some of my in-laws, usually around the holidays, and they always look forward to them now!!!

If you have any outlet malls around you, check out www.harryanddavid.com and there might be a store there near you. You can save some money by trying smaller amounts that you buy, and save on shipping, etc. that way!

My experience has been that they tend to arrive overripe. Don't waste your money.
