There could be many reasons for this. Are we better at catching criminals? Do we give longer prison sentences than most? Stronger drug laws? More prisons? Less executions? Any well-informed person would know WHY we do, right? So what is it? Well-informed people have sources, too, by the way.

It's not because we are the most violent. We are one of the most economically developed countries in the world, so financially speaking we have the most opportunity to build prisons and hire law enforcement to put people in them. But I'm sure that's not the point you were trying to make.

yes..and what a waste of the taxpayers money. Maybe they should have stiffer penalties then we would not have to have so many prisons. Quit pacifying these criminals and when they they kill and rape kids and innocent woman they should be executed instead of pampered because they may have been abused children. Instead our govt lets these people suck off the hard working law abiding citizens.

That's because we have so many stupid laws. Re-legislating drug use to be a medical rather than a criminal matter and abolishing mandatory sentencing would correct that in short order. We are turning rapists and child molesters lose to make room for college who smoke marijuana, where the protection to society in that?

A well informed person should look at the data and see how conclusions were made. A poorly informed person just accepts any set of numbers and makes any kind of conclusion he or she wishes.

What is your point? I've watched you post the last three questions and none of them mean anything. What are you trying to say? Not being critical, just wondering if you are making a point.

yes and when a person is convicted of a serious crime against society there are many who want them to be forgiven. there would be less crime if we would send them to a different plane of existence as long as they were convicted according to the laws rules and mores of U.S. society
