Just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn't mean they really are. If they're not living the way Jesus did, then they aren't really Christians. And the GOP doesn't have a lock on the Christian vote, either.
Not sure where this senator got his statistics, but I think the crime rate is a heck of a lot higher in the Darfur region of Sudan. And while the things that happen aren't necessarily a crime under their government's policies, North Korea is probably just as big of a cesspool of crime and corruption as anywhere else in the world. It's just that the crime is government-sponsored.

I guess it is up to Christians to judge how many other people are Christians. The USA has by far the highest crime rate of any industrialized nation. That is indisputable. Look at the number of gun related deaths alone! FOX tends to be really reliable, but people actually believe they are fair & balanced....like my one sided washing machine. My sarcasm may be incomprehensible to some!

The liberals consistently block efforts to make crime "not pay."
Remember, while most Americans CLAIM to be Christian, M. Murray O'Hare testified in federal court that the country was 70% atheists. She justified her claim WITH THE BIBLE, PROVING THAT most of the CLAIMED Christians were NOT TRULY CHRISTIAN.
Get the democrats to stop making prisons country clubs and the rates will go down.
Also, you know, some state prison systems have contracted FAITH BASED organizations to TEACH MORALITY AND ETHICS to convicts. These efforts seem to be helping - I did some computer work for one such organization a few years ago.

Did you know that politicians will say ANYTHING that serves them at any particular time?
And did you know that you can't infer causation from correlation alone?
That said, I'm sure that Christianity is responsible for many of the problems in the U.S. I'm just saying it isn't the only problem, and that saying that the U.S. has the highest crime rate is at best a highly qualified statement.
