I KNOW EVERYONE'S TELLING YOU NOT TO WORRY BUT I KNOW A BABY WHO SWALLOWED A BUNCH OF GUM THEY HAD TO PULL THE CRAP OUT OF HER BUTT. SHE WAS IN PAIN. I'M NOT SAYING THAT'S WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN CAUSE I THINK SHE SWALLOWED WAY MORE GUM THAN YOUR SON. ALL I'M SAYING IS BE CAREFUL. I DIDN'T LET MY KIDS HAVE GUM TILL THEY WERE ABOUT 4. THEY COULD HANDLE IT BETTER. AND UNDERSTOOD NOT TO SWALLOW IT.

No! My daughter is three but I probably won't let her chew gum until she's about 41/2. I let my 6 year old start chewing gum around that age also. Children that young can first of all choke and they probably don't understand that your not supposed to swallow it. I'd rather give her a piece of candy instead.

Stomach acid will eat it up. However, I am not sure if Ice Breakers gum is diet or not, but there is an ingredient in diet gum that is not good for children. It is called Xylitol. It causes diarrhea if over indulged in. In fact, hospitals use Xylitol as a laxative and gum producers use it as a sweetener.

Ah, this too shall pass.....
Unless he has symtoms of abdominal pain, bloating, constipation or the like (nausea, vomiting, etc, etc.) don't bother with the doc, it will all, er, come out in the end. And keep gum away from small children, it's a choking hazard. Wait until he's older.

He will be just fine. It will pass on its own. Try to explain to him that this isn't a good thing to do, and watch him when he has gum in the future, to prevent this, as a continued practice, it could lead to digestive problems, and if consumed in enough volume, a blockage, but this is very rare. Good question!

Don't panic, gum will pass on it's own. Two is too young to be chewing gum.

If he's not choking, then he should be fine. It will appear in a day or two.
