My daughter was gifted a beginners bible recently and what I am reading is abit hilarious. According to this book God basically gave orders to up sticks and move country to his 'followers' at the drop of a hat, they all had servants and life appeared very easy. And just how DID all the people in the world come from two people - there are laws against inbreeding these days aren't there???It cleared up the bit about everyone being different colours and languages - what a joke to play on your followers though to change it overnight - hadn't he heard of the naughty step - you know....if you don't build me that ark Noah I'll count to 3 and you'll sit in a timeout.....!?? PLEASE!!!!!

It gets even better. Wait until your fdaughter reads all about the hero Samson. Wonder if her "beginner's" bible will tell the whole morally uplifting story - ie. that he spent much of his spare time in the arms of the local prostitutes.

Yeah, a great book for kids, teaches them morality (see above), murder, conquest, animal cruelty, etc.

They're better off with Enid Blyton.

Some of the old testament stories are quite blood-thirsty and complicated, so I imagine that the stories in your kiddies bible are quite simplified and you are missing out much of the story. The old testament is quite a difficult place to start reading if you want to understand the bible. It may not make any sense to you reading a kiddies version, but rest assured that millions of people the world over have read these stories and believed. Try reading a new testament to get more of an understanding of what christianity is about. It's changed my life - you won't regret it.

no a beginners bible doesnt include songs of solomon ^^^

you have to remember that this is a bible for young children, so there are only selected stories, and they are written in a simple language that they will understand.

now you are totally entitled to believe whatever you want to believe, but......

if you read the Bible, the events you have mentioned didnt exactly happen that easily. maybe you should read bits of it before being so judgemental.

im not here to have an argument with you, but if you have any serious questions then please feel free to drop me a wee message :)

First of all, for a free LEGITIMATE copy of the Holy Bible, go to http://www.e-sword.net & check out http://www.gotquestions.org for a quick answer to any Biblical ??'s u may have.

In the beginning of time, when God created Adam & Eve, they were pure & God commanded them to be fruitful & multiply. However, as u stated, over time, sin has made us impure & inbreeding can cause retardation among other things.
I think it's great that ur daughter wants to learn more about God, & when u learn more, u will be blessed for helping to guide her in truth. God bless u!

Not much of a question but more of a statement. If you want a serious discussion on the Bible i suggest finding someone who has given serious study to it. You may only get abuse or ridicule here.

Don't evolutionist teach that all humans are from Lucy or from one common ancestor? Don't they claim that all races are from a common source? Don't they speak about small populations wandering from Asia to Mesopotamia? So what is so funny?

I feel very sorry for a little girl who will be brought up by such a Godless woman. Bless her heart, she will be lost if someone doesn't get the truth to her. What kind of parent would want to take a child to hell with them? How awful!
