I am not only amazed, I am incredibly saddened. When will the uneducated Catholics who are so willing to give wrong answers realize that they are doing more harm than good to the Catholic Church. I wind up in more conversations with non-Catholics trying to explain to them that what some other Catholic said is not what the church teaches.
To all non-Catholics out there - please do not believe everything a Catholic tells you as being what the Church teaches. Find out if the have any basis for what they are saying. Being a life long Catholic or having gone to a Catholic elementary school does not make them an expert in the faith. If they have not studied their faith as an adult from someone who is a qualified teacher than they do not know their faith.
I have only been on yahoo answers about a week but I have already corrected many answers from Catholics about what the Church teaches. Sadly those wrong answers have on two occasions been choosen as the best answer. Many of these wrong answers have been given so often that people really do believe that they know them to be the truth.
I have not previously identified my own credentials but I guess now is the time to do it. I am a life long Catholic who has gone to Catholic elementary school, high school ,and college as well as having a Masters Degree in Theology. I am also a Director of Religious Education for a parish. And by the way I am also a religious sister.

WOW an atheist and a Catholic agreeing on something? LOL
Good question.
This forum is not the best place to be if you are on the fence about religion. Not just from the atheists answers but from the Christian questions and responses. I think the R\S board is the the worst place for someone who is "confused", especially if the answers they get sre from Christians

this is not an example of atheists at all
atheists do not run from religion like you said because we would get tired, we just simply step aside and let religion do what it will without us
and i must say in this particular subject that being an atheist i find theology is actually very interesting because you do not have to agree with someone to want to understand their point of view

A lot of the 10 year olds that write these responses will have to look up "Theology" to see what it means...lol

Most of these responses are a exactly what Jesus speaks of when He talks about how "Many are called but few will answer."
People ignore God at their own peril. There's very little we can do other than continue living as best we can a Christ-like life on Earth.

its funny, ive heard of many atheists who try to prove religion is false and end up converting themselves after they actually learn about it.
