I have a school project that I need to debate one side or the other. I have chosen but am soliciting thoughts from others to help me either build or defend my case.
Best comments get the points, and hopefully it will help me earn an 'A' in this class. THANK YOU!!

Private School!

1) Unions in public schools promote teacher seniority instead of performance = no incentive for public school teachers to perform...and they don't. Private school teachers HAVE to perform.
2) Unions in public schools make it almost impossible to discipline or discharge poor teachers. Private school teachers can get discharged/disciplined and are held to higher standards.
3) Private schools have flexible curriculums with less or no "red tape" to cut through to make it happen...as opposed to imposed curriculums found in public schools
4) Private schools, if you choose one that is church focused, can further broaden your children's instruction in one's faith
5) Academic standards are raised to the highest level in private schools, not to the lowest performing student capability as seen in public schools
6) Private schools COMPETE.....therefore, they HAVE to do better...be better. They want your child to be the best.
7) Crime. Look at the stats....almost all of the crime in schools happens in public schools.
8) Discipline. Private schools have strict codes of discipline to properly mold a child....unlike the public schools that barely address problem children.
9) Private schools have smaller class size

....MUCH more.

School should be privatized. One way you can tell is because everything that can be privatized should be privatized. That doesn't help your paper, but at least you know you're right that way. I guess go for a cautious and sober Orwellian thought control/indoctrination type slant. Start out just talking about how the burden should not be on the government to decide what history to teach or what culture, that the government is rightfully only concerned with educating its populace on how said government works and what exactly are the laws that one must follow while under it. Also, it would make sense for the government to take an interest in teaching a national language to facilitate the first two tasks. But it goes beyond not wanting the burden of deciding what to teach... it is perhaps unethical, a conflict of interests, for the government to be involved in the education of its populace on historical matters. It's a dirty job, teaching history. It's better to just pass the buck. We want government to be simple. It will reduce corruption and inefficiency. If people want an education, they can go pay for one. Math, music, bartending, whatever they like. If they don't want one, or if they cannot afford it, then they can buy food instead. Sometimes food is more important. It's a commodity, education. The market will determine it's value, and private industry will deftly find solutions.

First of all, earning an A in your class will not solely rely on this project, but rather a total of all of the work you do in class, so I pray you study well and research all of your projects now and in the future. My thought as a Christian mom is that private school is more conducive to my beliefs and the beliefs as a parent I want my children to have. I feel that private school has a better student-to-teacher ratio as well and gives the children a more one-on-one teaching advantage that public school cannot offer. On the other hand, I feel that private school is way too expensive and because of that a lot of Christian parents such as myself find it nearly impossible to give our kids the schooling we would like them to have. So for my family our Christian teachings take place in the home and prayerfully our kids will shine their lights through the public school as a witness. That is my prayer.

Free admission regardless of grades
Alot of Special Education Programs for gifted/learning disabilities.

I choose public. I went to a private school from when i was 2 years old 'till 4th grade. I like public school better because it is much more free there. It is alot bigger also. At my private school their was only 9 kids in the 5th grade the year after i left. And the school i went to (public) had 80+. In private school they were alot more strict because you had to follow the Bible. While in public school half the things you couldn't do in private school was acceptable. I hope i helped you and good luck!

Both public and private school are great. they both teach u something.just because a private school wears uniform and u have to pay for your child before they go there, that doesn't mean it's better then public. you can learn alot of new and old things from both private and public school. so don't get confuse. just go by what your heart tells you.

private schools give students the much needed one -on-one attention. This helps them to succeed faster and it also gives them the ability to really see each individual student's potential. It gives them the ability to succeed faster because what they are learning is at a level that they can handle well on their own... their own paced learning style.

Public school system lacks real momentum when it comes to individual learning, attention , and potential. The stuff they learn is usually outdated, and doesn't apply to everyone, just the standards of the day which are usually old and all.

school sucks in entirety

public schools are better because they are free
private schools are bad cuz you havta pay
public schools are bad because too many kids go there
private schools are good because there is a controlled size
public schools dont let you express religon
private schools let you talk bout religion
public schools are good because they are usually close
private schools are sometimes far away

both schools are good if you start there in the begining and both have different types of people and its untrue about the sterotypes you hear when people say that private school kids are rich and stuck up and public school kids are poor and stupid thats not true, trust me, ive been to both and have the same people and the same things but some people just prefer one over the other

THE PART OF FLORIDA I LIVE IN HAS THE WORST PUBLIC SCHOOL THERE ARE. ALL THE CHILDREN I COME ACROSS THAT GO TO PUBLIC SCHOOL ARE AT A GRADE LEVEL THA T IS RIDICULES THE DROPOUT RATE IS HIGH BECAUSE ALOT OF THESE TEACHERS DON'T HAVE CONTROL OF THEIR CLASSROOM THE KIDS DO WHAT THEY WANT. WHEN MY DAUGHTER STARTED SCHOOL I PUT HERE IN PRIVATE SCHOOL AND I LIKE HOW THEY TEACH THE CHILDREN ABOUT RESPECT AND ALSO KEEP THEM IN CHECK. MY DAUGHTER LEARNS ALOT. ALSO YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND THE TIME TO SPEAK WITH THE TEACHER IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHATS GOING ON WITH HER DEALING WITH SCHOOL. SOMEONE ASKED ME WOULD SHE GO TO PRIVATE SCHOOL UNTIL SHE GRADUATE I SAID YES. I WOULD SACRIFICE ANYTHING TO KEEP HER THERE. I BELIEVE IN PRIVATE OVER PUBLIC.

I disagree that Public schools lack in one on one time. Both my boys graduated from public schools and it was very good for them. They both excelled both academically as well as athletically. Pleased to say they are both in college doing wonderfully.
