When they are genuinely rude (Not just having a rough day. It's very easy to tell the difference), I give them nothing. When I am about to leave, I find the manager and tell them at if my waitress asks why she didn't get her tip, it was because she didn't earn one. That way, the manager knows what happened and the waitress doesn't get to just keep it to herself.

However, if the person is just having one of those days, I tip 15 percent and leave a little note letting them know that we all have bad days. It gives you that fuzzy feeling inside when you stand out of the way and watch them recieve it. :-)

If the service is that bad, I wouldn't leave a tip. If, however, if the food is cold or not right, it may be the kitchen and not the waitress, so don't punish her. Waiters and waitresses make next to nothing for a wage and REALLY need tips (I'm sure you know this). I would let the manager know why you aren't going to leave a tip. Then he/she can let the waitress know why you didn't tip. The waitress may feel that it was YOU who has the problem if you don't leave a tip at all or if you leave a few cents.

Rude or begging for refills = a one cent tip. Cold food could be the cooks fault or the waitress so if she's nice and helpful, I still tip well. An exception to the rule is if I see that the waitress has too many tables to handle (short staffed).

i might want to certainly have docked her tip. notwithstanding, being on the receiving end as a waitress i comprehend it will be demanding. A older woman once made me very nearly cry because she kept yelling at me. I had dropped a plate and had to have her salad remade, at the same time as it did not come out in time she determined now to not get something and yelled at me. I apologized notwithstanding and she nevertheless paid for her drink and left a dollar. You server must have defined if their replaced right into a topic. i might want to imagine you probable might want to have understood. also, now and again the eating position might want to no longer seem busy, yet perhaps someone called off and they were down a server or the server were given double or perhaps triple seated. It feels like your server replaced into no longer doing properly, yet I continually attempt to go away something because I comprehend what it is opt to be a server. If it replaced into truly terrible notwithstanding i might want to ask to talk to a manager and probably they could be able to describe the problem extra constructive.

I would talk to the restaurant manager and tell him/her about the service you got. They should straighten out the situation! I wouldn't leave her anything.

I used to be waitress, and I worked really hard to give great service. I wasn't rude for two reasons. 1. I'm basically nice and 2. I needed those tips!

From what I have heard, NEVER send food back, decline it, leave and go somewhere else. If the waitress is nice and understands the food is not good, give her a small tip for her trouble. If, however she or he is being a jerk, leave nothing.

I don't tip in that case. We usually are big tippers and when we go to a favorite restaurant usually get great service. But if service is poor we do not tip and say something to manager. They usually want to know and if it is done nicely and quietly rather than yelling and being loud, most manager will make things right for you.

I'd be tempted not to tip, but I would probably tip 10% instead of the usual 20%. But, if she's really rude, and not just having a bad day (I know its hard to tell), I wouldn't tip her at all.

Since its now between 10 to 15 % were suppose to tip. I would suggest to leave the littlelist amount 10%. Or $1.00 and then go speak to the manager.
