Plasmas DO NOT only have a 3 year life span like some one suggested above me. Plasmas can last well over 15 years. And if you properly break it in then your chance of suffering burn in will be drastically reduced.

Plasmas have a better picture but they take a lot more work to maintain.

I have two LCDs myself and that is what I would suggest. They have a nice picture and are easily maintained. Worry free. But for teh overall best picture quality would go to CRTs. But they are very bulky and heavy.

Plasma or LCD 1080I 1080P it is such a common question now it is getting to be different. Lots is personal prefeence. LCD will last longer than an Plasma. But a plasma has a sharper picture but a LCD will have some pixel burnouts it all sugestions i use a projector that cost a lot less than most peoples plasmas or LCDs and i have a 102" tv in my living room with surround sound less than people pay for their 37 inch plasma. Biggest thing is buying what makes you happy.
