It would be the funniest thing if there were a culture where walking around and giving someone the middle finger meant "have a nice day" or something.

I don't know about that but there is probably cultures where the middle finger doesn't mean anything at all.

Yes, in the USA they use the middle finger to wave to their friends in traffing, think it means "have a nice day" or something like that. Very polite culture

*Chuckles* Men will greet each other with insults- its a guy bonding thing. And yes, the middle finger is considered to be a mild if rude gesture.

Theres one society- I don't remember where- where putting up the "Thumbs Up" sign means the same thing as the middle finger does.
