Do unto to others what you want others to do unto you...
Whatever he is doing to others, will he allow others to have the same thing done to him? He talks about fairness and justice... tit for tat, that is fair non?
Yes, the bible says all authority come from God, instead of looking all the way up to the president, closer tohome I wonder how many of us
-disobey our father/mother on earth? ( parental authority )
-disobey the very teachers and priests/pastors who nurture us in knowledge or spiritual knowledge ( Educator/shepherd's authority )
-park illegally? under declare taxes? Run a stop sign? ( Governmental authority )
President Bush's decisions are not wrong I believe, as all Americans are given the freedom of speech, opinion and expression...BUT... does he have to conviction to stand by them fairly? Will he allow others to treat HIM the SAME way HE treats them... He sure hasnt done the "Turn the Right Cheek" thing ( Christ's Humility )....will he at least stand by the "Eye for an Eye" thing? ( old testament )

Michael, I agree with what you say about the GOP politicizing faith, but don't forget that the Dems are just as guilty of that. And if we're not praying for the president and everyone else in elected offices, we're not doing what Scripture commands us to do, regardless of whether we agree with the people in office or not.
And let's look at the bigger picture: While there might be a lot of policy decisions that the president has made that Christians on both the left and right have disagreed with, the American public voted for the man, so if they didn't want his policies to be put into place, they shouldn't have voted for him. I'll concede that there hasn't been much of a choice in the past two elections, but the influence of the president's policies only goes so far. What are each of us doing in our individual communities to help feed the hungry, house the homeless, etc.? There are a lot of Christians who think if they vote for Christians that they (the voting public) have done their duty and that's it. We vote Christians into office and then let the government take care of the rest. That's not what Jesus intended at all. I've read statistics that Christians in the U.S. give between 3 and 4 percent of their income to churches and other ministries, and Americans in general spend nearly 5 hours a day in leisure activities. If Christians in this country trusted God enough to give Him a relatively paltry 10 percent of their income--it's not like anything we have belongs to us in the first place--and if we devoted just an hour or two a day helping various ministries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc., we wouldn't be ranting about what the government is or isn't doing because we'd be taking the bull by the horns and getting stuff done ourselves. I have serious concerns about certain things that the Bush administration has done or has proposed, but am I going to sit back and twiddle my thumbs and cry because I'm upset about what's happening in Washington? That won't do a darn thing to bring about the change we say we want but that we're too lazy to work for.
Sorry that I'm going off on a rant, but I've seen this same let-others-do-it attitude far too often in my own church. People say they want to serve, to help with various ministries in the church, but then when the need arises, only a handful show up and the rest of the people say that they just couldn't make it, they had things get in the way schedule-wise, etc. Where are our priorities? We find time to do the things we want to do. We just don't do the things that matter. We sit on our butts for three or four hours a night watching TV, then we wonder why we see bad news on TV in the first place. It's because we expect someone else to do what we want to see done.

I prayed to God that we could have a President who wasn't ashamed of the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
So at President Bush's inauguration, our nation was blessed in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Plus, I have heard how God saved Pres Bush from His sins and that he is a born again Christian.
From this Born Again CHristian point of view, President Bush is right. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. Our President is blessed, so we are blessed.
WMD was in Iraq, but were sent to Syria because we went to Iraq.

It is President George W. Bush. He isn't a Jr..
Now, I don't think he's wrong. Somewhat idealistic about introducing Democracy to make the Islamic World a more peaceful place, but he isn't wrong. He is Right On in The War against Terror !
The President is a Godly Man, who Prays for Godly Wisdom every Day. I don't see many other Politicians doing that.

Well for starters, GWB has tried to make the GOP the official party of Christians. And while Jesus talked about morality--a concern of the GOP--he also talked a lot more about feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, caring for the sick and visiting those in prison. A lot of Christians might vote for the GOP because they can't stand the Democrats' extreme position on abortion, but I don't think starving children just because welfare is a sin (according to conservatives) is what Jesus had in mind. This president hasn't done anyone any favors in showing us what a real Christian is like.

I don't follow the news much, but when I asked God who I should vote for I felt in my heart it was President Bush. Now its up to Bush and God to do the rest.

This is a delicate subject. I feel that anyone who does anything in hopes of bettering themselves or others becomes rewarded. I am not the one to judge the President either way.But if he has done something bad, the repercussions and consequences will show eventually.

um ... The Cowboy of God can't be wrong. everything he does is the will of God ... be it lying the USA into an unwinnable war that has killed 100s of thousands people creating ever more hatred and terrorists or making legal indefinite imprisonment without due process and legalizing torture or shredding the Constitution and putting himself above the Law of the Land..
GW Bush is the Christian's political messiah and there's no wrong he can do that American Christians won't bless.
Amen.
PS. American Christians won't say anything against God's chosen president? hmmmmm it's your patriotic duty to protest the wrongs your government does, otherwise you're living in a dictatorship. and gee ... where you all so generous and nonjudgmental when Clinton lied about his personal indiscretions?
if i remember my New Testaments stories correctly ... Jesus had a special dislike for hypocrites

Although im no one to judge him, Going to war probably was not the best idea, because all though its better to not take the risk of letting other countries make weapons of mass destructcion, once you see that they dont then you just have to back away and leave. The war was suppose to be over long ago, so why are the troops still in iraq dieing?
