I still get mixed up a little between mean, median, bell curves and such. But either this question is really simple, or you haven't fully qualified it.
If this is the entire sample, there can be only one answer, no matter what averaging statistic is used: 13
If there are more instances in the sample (or 18 occurs more times in the sample than 8 does, or vica versa), the answer changes according to what averaging statistic you use. (At which point I'd have to hit the textbooks in order to better understand what 'geometric mean' is asking of me.)

(8*18)^(1/2) = 144^0.5 = 12

G.M. = (8 * 18)^1/2

= (144)^1/2

=12 ...............................Ans

it would be 13, but if you mean nth root it would be aprox. 1.12246
