I feel that it will be almost impossible for a professional to win the WSOP Main Event. However, due to the new regulations, 2007 may be the first year in history that the WSOP Main Event will not increase in attendance. It went from approximately 870 players in 2003 to over 8,700 entrants in 2006. According to the WSOP Media Director, he feels that the online gambling law will have a negative effect on the WSOP. I would agree. Many players win their seat by playing online.

I have heard many pros state that they feel a pro will never win the Main Event. I feel that there are a few pros who could pull it off - Allen Cunningham for one. He outlasted over 8,700 players and finished in 4th place at this year's WSOP Main Event.

Because of so many people registering for the WSOP, no, unless they up the buy-in to 20Gs. It's just a logistics nightmare for them right now.

if it happens again it will be ala johnny moss-he got voted over all champion by his peers.it would be better that way as tournament no limit hold 'em has huge luck factor-try 2-7 low ball no qualifier $5000.00 buy in-a little tougher than waiting for AA,KK,AK etc and hollering all in!
