Go to the store and buy the XP Home Upgrade CD. If you don't want to bother migrating anything over from Win 98, then buy the OEM XP Home CD. You won't find XP on the web, unless some idiot is distributing a pirated copy.

Unless you have a slow system with less than 256 MBs of RAM, then I'd suggest you get XP.
XP is better and much more secure, but it requires a half decent computer system to run well. Also, there is no more support for ME from Microsoft, and some software companies are no longer supporting Win 9x such as disk defragmenter companies.

I'd go to Staples, Walmart, Amazon, etc and buy the upgrade edition of Windows XP. It usually sells for about $100. Place the disk in the drive and follow the instructions-should take about 45 minutes. The advantage of a legitimate copy is continued security updates/patches and support if needed.
If your PC has less than 256MB of Ram, I'd recommend against upgrading unless you can add more. If so, 512 MB will give better performance.

Forget ME its nothing more than a facelift of 98SE As for XP PLEASE don't abuse your computer that way! If you have to stick with Microsoft stuff get Windoes 2000PRO. Unlike XP there are many fewer little glitches that allow anybody with half a brain to hack your computer.
An alternative....download Puppy Linux 2.10, it will happily co-exist with Windows 98 with any re-partitioning. Once you've tried Linux you may nevr want to go back. As to Win2000 contact techvillageonline@yahoo.com they still have some disks of 2000 left I think.

Definately upgrade to XP, ME is a joke. You would simply need to buy the update somewhere and then insert the CD to install it.
