Try and see a Broadway Show (Wednesday Matinees are great) Take a ferry ride. visit the Empire State Building and go up to the observation Tower, take the Circle line from Battery Park to the Statue of Liberty. Go shopping on Fifth Avenue, go to Macy's at Herald Square, check out China Town, Little Italy and all the great restaurants up town and down town.
Carry Travelers checks and be careful of your wallet.
Have a wonderful time- I'm an X New Yorker, and although I don't miss the city, there are some wonderful things to do there.

Definitely do the obvious things...go up the Empire State Building, take a water taxi around the whole island, see the Statue of Liberty and go to Central Park. Go to South Street Seaport (www.southstreetseaport.com) it's really lovely, especially if you're there at christmas and you must have a meal at Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park (www.tavernonthegreen.com), you can make reservations online. You can also take a helicopter flight which your hotel should be able to help you book. Hope you enjoy yourself!

Go to katz Deli (where Harry met sally was filmed) and have a pastrami or rye, amazing New York experience, pure chaos and great food. Take a helicopter ride over New York at sunset, it really is mind blowing. Try to see a show on Broadway, I saw Rent and loved it, but anything will do, get tickets from the TKTS stand in Times Square (cheaper than everywhere else). Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge its a great view of New York. Have a make over in Bloomingdales, shop till you drop in Grenwich Village, go and see Carries house from Sex n the City, go see the 'Friends' house, all a bit sad. but really fun if you try to find them yourself, go to Mis shapes to boogie.... I could go on allll day, you will LOVE IT!!!!!
