Islam in arabic means peace, and peace in English means no war, no killing...so Islam is based on forgiveness, and loving people. then how does Osama bin Laden is affecting on all people, it's impossible for a single man to make the world afraid of him, it's impossible for a man who lives in a mountain makes everybody shivers of him, it's impossible for a man who wears a jacket and long one peice of wool and make the world jump to ceilings afraid of him, lighten up you people.
If the Islam religion was distributed in bombings and killing, people would not accept it, and it should not be recieved by us, coz we hate that, we hate killing, we like to live, we hate scared, we like happiness.
one more thing, Allah means god. Allah is god but in a different language "Arabic" I'm muslim I say "Oh my god" when I'm surprised, God is unsean, God is the creator of the world, it's exactly the same thoughts as Christian and jews.
Please people lighten up, Islam is a good religion.

Thank you

Because they don't understand the religion and are to ignorant, lazy or uneducated to try and learn. I am a Catholic, but do not hate Islam, because I researched the religion to learn more about it. It is absolutely not what the media or others portray it as. Islam is a beautiful peaceful religion, It is in fact sad that more people don' take the time to learn more about the world before they start passing judgement on it.
Thank you for taking the time to try and educate some people.

I see the many points you made. My belief is the media is the cause of the way American Society looks at Islam. It is the extremists that should be feared, not every middle eastern man. Even if we believe the faith they follow is wrong, in their eyes they believe in that faith. People should study cultural anthropology before making assumptions of that all Muslims are terrorists. Someone posted the 3 options of Islam (convert, be a second citizen, or die). This is almost equivalent to either you go to church every sunday, or you will go to hell (eternal suffering). I see a very similar case here.

I appreciate your sincerity. I will be equally sincere.

I judge a religion based primarily on its proven power to improve those who embrace it, because if anything should demonstrate the power of God, it should be the lives of His worshipers. Don't you agree? Yet, today, in the seat of the Caliphs, Baghdad, Muslim slaughters and butchers Muslim with a cruelty and barbarism as terrible as we have ever known, bestial murders as low as humanity has ever sunk. Not murders by ones and twos, but by fifties and hundreds. This is the legacy of all three monotheisms of Arabia. It has always been so historically.

Whether Jew, Christian or Muslim, when not murdering pagans they murder each other, all the while trumpeting the name of their God for whom they claim to wage war. I am forced to conclude that either their God does not exist, or their God is weak and helpless to curb their violence, or their God enjoys a bloodbath, of there perhaps is a God, but Jews, Christians and Muslims neither know Him nor know of Him, but worship a false God.

If you were visiting from another planet and had no previous contact with your religion or the other two from which yours is descended. would you not draw the same objective conclusions as I have, and if that is so, why do you not draw those conclusions now, other than you have been culturally conditioned to maintain your religion is true in the face of all contrary evidence?

Peace to you friend. I know we can all find another path where no God calls us to the slaughter, but not by walking in the footsteps of the murderers, charlatans and fools who preceded us.

People are afraid of Islam because the recent media coverage of terrorism by Islamic groups. They aren't familiar with the religion or its teachings and they often make the assumption that it's a religion that simply breeds terrorists. It's misconception, but I do think they have some right to be worried. There's just so much sensationalization and pinning of the label "evil" on Muslims.

We have a saying in the USA! "Actions speak louder than words." No one knew about your religion. I know I didn't!
No one gave your religion a thought! You could say your religion was peaceful and I would have believed you.
But you bombed the World trade Center twice. That killed people. There is a list of bombings and killings even of your own people. 400,000 Kurds Millions of Africans from bombings hackings and 25,000 kidnapped children. To use as sex slaves.
That is a newspaper fact! When 3000 Americans died who never heard of Islamic people. We saw pictures of people in the middle east dancing in the street cheering! Death to America!
I said, "Who are these people and why do they hate us?"
My Husband said, "I don't know!" then the atrocities in Africa was on the news. We watched as they pulled people and bodies out of this blowed up building. On the nightly news.
We are not afraid of Osama Ben Lauden! We don't even know who he is. If he stays hid in a cave over there in the middle east that is fine with me. I don't jump to ceilings afraid of him.
But on the nightly news 3000 young men from this country have died to try to bring peace to the people in Iraq. We see ones coming home we saw grow up here with arms and legs missing.
Not just a couple but thousands of young men. There only crime trying to help your people. Have any of your people ever said, thank you for the millions of dollars tax payers have spent over there to bring peace? for rebuilding work? Then you come on here and want to tell us that Islamic religion is peaceful.
Tell that to the neighbor boy who is trying to learn to walk with out legs.

If by "you people" you mean "Americans" don't THINK that of all of us, we are all humans just like you. We have different beliefs and different ways of thinking. Many people are ignorant and I just wish one could teach in school the different types of religion, but its illegal to do so, that's what makes SOME people ignorant. I'm against no religion, if you have a way different believe than I do, I respect that, you do what you do and I'll do what I do. Don't look at things in one way, which is your way, open your eyes and ask don't just say things, then it be like blasphemy.

I hate islam because I've read the Qu'ran in three different English interpretations.

Muhammad gives three choices to non-muslims:
1. Convert
2. Pay jizya (submission tax) and be second class citizens
3. Die

And for an atheist like myself, #2 isn't even an option. Muhammad directly orders non-believers to be killed wherever they are revealed.

This is not 'peace'.

That you are even asking this question is absurd! We don't know which Muslims are good and which are bad. Trust is out the door. Americans don't trust Muslims. Can you blame them? I am not afraid of Osama, I'm MAD!
