Pslams 89:35-36..God promises David that his seed shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me.
The last male heirs to David's Throne were killed by King Nebuchadnezzar. Yet Zedekiah had two daughters. My question is this...where did Jeremiah take the two, [tender twigs] daughters to after a stop over in Egypt.(In 1886 a fortess was discovered on the eastern or Syrian frontier of Lower Egypt where the pharaoh had his palace. There in the fortess, a ruin was found, that was called -Kasr el Bint Yehudi-: The palace of the daughters of Juda.
So...where did they eventually end up? They certainly did exsist, or else the promise in Pslams 89:35-36 is null.

The actual promise to David is that his seed (singular) would endure forever. That seed, according to the Bible (usually the best thing to use to interpete the Bible), is Jesus Christ. (See Romans 1:3, Galatians 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:8) You will find the lineage of Jesus from David to Joseph in Matthew Chapter 1.

The fate of Zedekiah's daughters is not given in scripture. But as a quick read through of Matthew 1 will show you that the line did not follow throught Zedekiah, but rather through his brother Jehoiachin, the fate of Zedekiah's daughters is unimportant to the promise of Psalms 89.

Following the resurrection of Jesus, the Jews were expelled from Israel in 70 AD, and there has been no Jewish king since. But since the last king of the Jews is still alive, Jesus, there is no need for any more.

By the time the Babylonians overthrew Judah, there were literally thousands of male descendents of David thru Solomon...as there are today. While the most direct male-line royal descendents may have been killed without heirs, others surely survived.

If there is no remaining patrilineal line to David left...then Bible is a lie. In the line of kings, matrilineal descent is meaningless.

Dear Royal Racer,

The promise is not broken. The seed is the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember that God cannot lie and His word is truth. "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free."
