Okay, first of all, Catholicism is the ORIGINAL Christianity. Baptists might tell you otherwise, but the Catholic church has been there LONG before the Protestants came around. So, that being said, Catholicism, like Christianity, focuses on the whole Trinity, Jesus for salvation belief system. No different, except for what Protestants call "more elaborate rituals" and the like, including sacrements, communion, but other than that its really no different as it has the core teachings of Christ involved. Do Catholics use a different bible? Well they (tend to) use the Douay-Rheims, or all 76 books of the canon bible, so yes they do use writings and scriptures that Protestants have left out and deemed non-canon. And no, Priests are only there as clergy, no one worships the Pope or thinks Priests are everything. They believe in free will and personal spiritual relations with God. This is coming from someone who was raised Catholic and have family members who are devout Catholics. They'll tell you the same thing (but probably go into more detail since they still practice the faith).

Yes - Catholics have a different bible. Yes - Catholics can have a personal relationship with Jesus, according to church teaching currently. Yes - Jesus turned to Peter and commanded him to build his church upon the rock that was Peter and from that the Catholic Church was built. Yes - Catholics do go through Church to receive Sacrament, including the Sacrament of Forgiveness as part of the standards. There are exceptions which are granted based on circumstance. Yes - Catholics can read the bible for themselves. The correct interpretation of the bible is announced from the pulpit in the Catholic Church, as in others, by the Church Leaders or in writings by its leadership. Now, after that, it is open to argument and opionion. Martin Luther pretty dramatically took the church he perceived that Jesus wanted and built it into the modern day Lutheran Church. The reformation was pretty much the idea that the Catholic Church had marched too far away from Jesus and needed new and correct management. Catholics are rather certain that the church has remained faithful to Jesus command. The Puritans, and later day Baptists believe everyone had it wrong and took a more literal interpretation of Jesus commands than arguably the other Protestant or Catholic faithful. Christianity became so skewed and divided because of interpretation, pratical application, corruption from the local to top levels of the Catholic Church, power (in the case of King Henry the 6th and the founding of the Anglican church) and the ever favorite money. I believe there are several million different views to all your questions and a lifetime of study. Enjoy.

He seeks me for relationship...and I seek Him.
There is no one else that would lay down their life like He did for me. I am still amazed at that! He was a sheep lead to the slaughter, for me?!?! That's the ultimate relationship. ((Not that I would ask anyone to do it. I didn't ask Him, too. He just did it out of love.)) WOW!
It's awesome and I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!
He has given me peace in my life :o)

He said that I will be his friend if I do his will. I try to do it: Like preaching the Gospel in this hostile forum. So, I guess I'm his friend. Probably, when he executes judgment on this earth--including this forum--he will let me go and bury the dead. Those who ridicule him, specially

.To have a relationship with Jesus you must have one with God first and through Jesus you talk to God. And then you will have the the Holy ghost. One without the other is not complete relationship.
