when people talk to god do they feel enlightened or do they have a vivid imagination?

I believe some times it's one or the other. Depends on the person to me. Personally, I feel "enlightened" (as you refer to it) when I pray. Some people, my just have a vivid imagination if they have the desire to talk with God, but don't really believe...there is a difference.

I think there's more to it than just a vivid imagination, but less to it than speaking to an actual sentient uber-being. Consciousness is a tricky thing, and experiences like that don't necessarily fall neatly in to the categories "delusion" and "supernatural."

i dont think im understanding your question. but ill answer as best i can. when i talk to god i do it because not only is it in my religeon, but it has a lot to do with how im feeling. when i talk to him i feel neither enlightened nor do i have a vivd imagination. imagination has nothing to do with god, at least thats what i think

Sometimes they have a direct line to their higher selves (and don't have a clue that's what it is), but for many of them I think it's "childhood's imaginary friend" revisited.

i don't talk to god, i do how ever talk to a charlie brown pez dispenser and it enlightens me very much... oh whats that... charlie said to say hi!

i talked to god once he didn't have his hearing aid on so he wasn't listening that happens to me alot so i personally stopped talking to him..
