The question "How to search a pdf file composed with picture files?" answered my first question I think, but I'd like to search the text of PDF files. Reader has options to search, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried this in XP, Vista and OS X. I even tried it in Acrobat. No dice. I even installed IFilter on XP. The document I want to search is for an Information Retrieval class...ha, I want to retrieve some information from the document!

Try to select some texto as to paste somewhere else... If you can't, then it's an image.

with the file open..... press ctrl + f to open the find window..... if it is text, it will find whatever you entered (assuming it is in the text somewhere)... if not it is a picture.
