They had 3 sons (Seth) and daughters too.

Book Of Genesis
Chapter 4

16 And Cain went out from the face of the Lord, and dwelt as a fugitive on the earth, at the east side of Eden. 17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived.

"His wife"... She was a daughter of Adam, and Cain's own sister; God dispensing with such marriages in the beginning of the world, as mankind could not otherwise be propagated. He built a city, viz. In process of time, when his race was multiplied, so as to be numerous enough to people it. For in the many hundred years he lived, his race might be multiplied even to millions.

We see in the Bible in Genesis 3 where Adam and Eve were cursed and sent out of the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 4, Cain kills Abel. In Genesis 4:17 above we see that Cain had relations with his wife. Where did he get his wife? The answer is simple. Cain married one of his sisters.

Genesis 5:4 says, "Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters." We see that Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters. The genetic lineage of Adam and Eve was perfect so marrying a sister wasn't going to cause birth defects. It wasn't until much later, during the time of Moses, that incest was forbidden as the genetic pool became less and less able to stand interbreeding. "‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD," (Lev. 18:6).

Adam and Eve had a lot of kids, they just specifically named Cain & Abel because they were the first murderer and victim. The bible also mentions Seth, another brother. Considering that before the unfortunate fruit incident they had no "old age" to worry about, and no great pain in child birth, I'm guessing Adam and Eve had lots and lots of babies.

Adam and Eve were God's first people in the garden of Eden. That doesn't mean that God stopped there and didn't create any more people though. Cain said himself, "Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."
SO, there must have been more people if he said that someone would find him and kill him.

Cain married either his sister or close cousin probably the cousin.

The people of Nod didn't just appear.

Back then the law of innerfamily marriages didn't exist, (had to populate)the world some way.

And for you science nerds--one case of incest doesn't mean retardation or anything but that's over generations of in breeding. So it was safe to do back then...
