I have naturally red hair and I want to try temporary black dye. Will it have any bad effects on my hair after it washes out?

i don't know how it will work for you, but i used temporary black dye on strawberry blonde hair, and it didn't come out. It had to grow out, looking like a skunk the whole time.
So please take a word from someone stupid, look at the side of the box and see what it says before you do anything.

semipermanent dyes like clairol natural instincts always made my hair shinier. of course you can only dye your hair darker or change the tone of your hair with dyes like that. it still makes your hair look even better than it did before. it says it washes out after 28 shampoos, but if you dye it a lot darker then it stays in longer. im not sure how long the black hair dye stays in.

My ex used temporary black hair dye a few years ago for a Halloween costume. He had blonde hair naturally, and it stained his hair a nasty grayish color for several months after.

It's not really temporary. Color will fade, but the stain will remain until it's cut out. You can try it if you want to, but you might not like it.

It will probably leave some color on it, what you can do though is wash with a clarifying shampoo after. Clarifying tends to be very drying so be sure to deep condition afterwards.

if you have blonde hair it will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There has been this guy in my class who had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was almost platinum blonde!

Why is everyone with blond, why aren't you just have jet black hair with some blonde or blonde curly hair with some jet black hair. Now you don't have to choose.

i wouldnt recommend it because it will stain your hair...it does NOT wash out!! i just had to go through the whole process of bleaching mine...its horrible!!!
