My husband is due home, and I want to start making posters, but I don't have any clue on what to put on it. I could put "Welcome home" but that's a bit cliche, I want to put something else. Someone suggested I put "You rocked Iraq and now your back" but I'm not feeling it. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a bunch...

When my husband came home, we took a big white sheet and wrote "Welcome Home Dad!" In big huge red/blue letters, then we decorated it with flags, gold stars and red/white/blue ribbon. I had close family and friends use glitter pens to write little excerpts and also wrote USAF (his branch) and rank, and GO USA.

We hung it on the garage so he and all the neighbors could see it. I did this to show him how proud we are of him, and that we aren't afraid to show it.

(If he's not a dad, you could write "honey", "sweetheart" or even his rank and name - that would be good too.)

Glad your hubby will soon be home!

I really like the You Rocked Iraq and Now Your Back! That is cute. When my cousin came home his girlfriend tied a yellow ribbon around the tree in the front of the house and... we had a HUGE sign that said WELCOME HOME WE LOVE U!

Well, to be honest, they don't really notice the posters...but since there are alot of people, maybe a bright one, with his name on there, with a catchy phrase...sorry I couldn't help much, I can only imagine your excited, I didn't make a poster as I was holding up our 1 month old...ahaha...that was his welcome home "sign"...

Whatever you put, years down the road, I can almost guarantee he won't remember what it said, only that you were there to welcome him back.

To be practical, I'd agree with the others, something bright to catch his eye. It doesn't have to be clever.
