Long Distance relationships are a very different type of relationship. There are good points and bad points to every type of relationship. Bad point being in this case that most long distance couples fear infidelity, but research has shown that those that are in serious long distance relationships chose not to cheat. A good point of long distance relationships is that it is very hard to get tired of one another. It also helps if one or the other is prone to feeling smothered. It allows you to get to know the other at a distance.
When in a long distance relationship although it is difficult to deal with the distance between you - you both are in it together and it helps build stronger bonds. You also develop a relationship on psersonality rather than looks.

Long distance relationships are a fine thing when you put the time and the energy into it. Just like any relationship Good luck to you!

I agree, they rarely work....even with a lot of trust. I was w/this guy for 2yrs. I moved to atlanta but since we "loved" each other so much we stayed together. I put a lot of trust in him i mean I've known him for so long and we were together for two years. We talked all the time and stuff like that but when i go back to New York to visit he had four other girlfriends. Even if you found someone who honestly stays faithful to you and only you. You slowly but surely miss and begin to need affection. After a while talking on the phone, writing letters, etc. becomes old and tired. You can always TRY it, but I suggest you leave it alone and just be friends.

I think long distance relationships work if the two people are willing to go the extra mile to make the relationship to work and are willing to give their all in the relationship

I think they do fail alot but I am in one currently and it works out most of the time shure you don't see each other often but that builds trusk in a relationship. If you can trust the person then it can work.

i think they are great - better than having some ' townie ' girl from the city I live in - with the closed mined townie perspective on life - my long distance relationships were always the best

I think they're doomed to fail and the people in them really need to decide if they need the other one in their life bad enough they would change their life and move for them.

They rarely work...and they cause a lot of frustration for the parties involved (since they cannot be with each other)
