Unfortunately it is not as easy. Religion is a crutch for those who need to lean against something, and are quite happy not to scrutinise the logic on which it may stand. That is not illness in the real sense, but lack of knowledge.

Read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. It is a fast growing knowledge about God and the Universe shared by the thinking people. Sooner than most would believe, it will replace the religions by the sheer weight of its logical argument.

Maybe, but perhaps fate put religion here for a reason. I agree that most forms of religion are damaging to people's minds, but what if that person who joins one, mind is somewhat damaged to begin with? What if whoever decided to create these different religions knew that their are people who are so scared, so fearful, and so empty inside about their own mortal existence that they need some form of belief system to hold these people up, so they can continue in contributing as humans in a industrious society? Just think about it.

I once saw a pro gramme on tv about some religious cult that had brainwashed people so badly. Turned them against their families and everything.

They had to be forcefully taken away from the cult and its leaders and de-programmed. Took months for them to be able to live a normal life again. Scary, and very dangerous.

Some people already have. You should check out The End of Faith by Sam Harris, He earned his degree in philosophy from Stanford University, and working on his Doctorate in neuroscience.

Actually, he might be on to something. "Religion" is a stupid man made thing that does no one any good.
However, it is possible for one to have a relationship with the one true God, and this is a great thing.

And, yes, I am firmly convinced that this is the truth.

God Hates Religion

Religion is often characterized by absolutism, authoritarianism and activism
which do not derive from God Himself.
