I wanted to test the credibility of the church and its interpreters. I just made up a bunch of jibberish and the interpreter said that I was saying all kinds things. He tried to read me EXACTLY like fake psychic would. It is discusting that you christians allow such brainwashing in your holy place.

Like people insecure of their faith in any religion, Christianity has those who find it more important that other people believe in their dogma, than that they themselves are left with no doubt. Those with no doubt challenge. Those with doubt grasp at anything that may prove their point or lead others to back them. But don't just blame the Christians, it's as prevalent in any religion. It doesn't discredit the religion itself, just some of the weaker people in it.

This interpreter was lying to you because when one speaks in tongues, they are speaking in ancient languages not in use any more and in languages that don't even exist. People can't undertand what is actually being said when someone speaks in tongues. It is the Holy Spirit that is having that person speak in old languages and also in 20 languages all at once. Your first work could be Japanese, the 2nd word could be ancient Hebrew, the 3rd word could be Portugese, etc. No one can interpret teh speaking of tongues. And, sadly, there are many people that fake this gift as well. Tongues is a gift from the Holy Spirit. P.S. The interpreter sinned by lying that he understood you but you also sinned by lying to him that you could speak in tongues. You are no better than he. So you both should be ashamed.

Seems to me like maybe you should find something more productive to do with your time....However, if you go into any situation with such a negative approach...you are sure to prove whatever you have already predecided....you were skeptical about tongues to begin with and looking for another reason to "prove" your point...so you found it! Some Christians believe in speaking in tongues and some don't...to some it is a real experience and to some - even in the Christian community - well, they are skeptical about it. I can't prove a lot of things in life...especially in the realm of spirituality... but that does not mean they don't exist. If you had gone into the situation with a sincerely unprejudiced position, I would be more impressed with your insights.

When you say "you Christians" how do you know we are all like that. The bible says tongues is a dialect between you and GOD that only GOD understands, and He gives the interpretation through an interpreter. So if you don't know what you were saying how do you know that guy was wrong? I don't believe your saved. so that's how you know he was wrong. Okay that's established. See some Christians are in it for the "look at me" syndrome instead of helping somebody. in our church we weed out all the hypocritical nonsense so you know the truths have been spoken.

Who ever said we allow it?

Never trust someone who doesn't trust you. A liar sees lies, because he projects his lying self. A criminal sees crime, because he projects his criminal. A cheater sees cheating, yadda yadda.

Yes, false people of all kinds weasel their way into church. Why didn't you stand up and say you were testing the false prophets?

The mistake is yours.

Satan took over you to say the giberrish you said. The interpreter, might have perceived what he may have seen as true, but you have to remember that nor you nor the interpreter are in charge, it is God.

You went to the wrong church--the Pentacoastal. Speaking in tongue does not reflect nor occur in mainstream Christian Church.
