My boyfriend recieved a note from some other girl that started out "Salut beau Bonhomme". What does this mean exactly and is it a phrase someone uses when they are just friends or when they are flirting?
The rest of the note was nothing important but hes in Afghanistan right now and so is she,so I just would like to know if I should be worried.
Thanx

it means: Beau = Beautiful
bonhomme... bon = good .....;homme = man
so its beautiful good man
yup, she's flirting...in frensh, you can say bonhomme and won't b considered as flirting...but adding the "beau" should b ur worries. but is s a shy flirt, i sense a one side flirt, from her part....
so if i were u, i would ask him to get his "beau" *** back home :)

It means "good looking guy".She was flirting, and I'd be pi$$ed.How long have they been "friends"?She could've just said "hello" and gone on to write the letter.I'm French, and if another woman addressed my husband,it'd be fighting words, unless they've known each other since they were kids or something.

it is like saying good looking bloke - however if she and he are both British who is to say that she knows its meaning ?
If she is French it could be something that you say to somepne to have a laugh.
I think only you can decide if you need to be worried!
