When I was dieting I had it bad for bread.. I could with no problem eat a whole loaf of french bread!
My weakness was and still is Peanut Butter.
Whenever I feel a KILLER craving I eat Rice Cakes. Usually 2 or something. I like the carmel ones because they taste a little like Peanut Butter so my mind just accepts it as that!
What I would do is try get my mind of it by any means I could. Go clean something (My house always needs SOMETHING cleaned) just get up and about so your not thinking about it.
But if your actually wanting to eat something, get some veggie with light dip and have a little snack!
Best of luck!

When I lost 8 stone I followed the Weight Watchers points diet, although I didn't actually go to WW meetings. For me it was great because I could still eat most of the things I wanted, so provided I counted it in to my points and adjusted the rest of my day's eating it meant that I could still have the cream cake (or the fish and chips) and really enjoy it.
My best tip is that before you eat anything you ask yourself why you are eating it and if you really want it. In the bad old days I quite often would eat something as a "treat" and straight afterwards wish I hadn't had it. Now I work on the principle that if I'm going to regret eating it why bother! Psychologically it gives you a real buzz cos you are controlling the food not the other way round. Sometimes I would decide that it was something I really, really wanted to eat and in that case I would eat it, enjoy every mouthful and refuse to feel guilty about it afterwards.
The only other thing is don't be too hard on yourself. If you're having a bad week and your diet falls by the wayside, don't worry. Just put it behind you and when you feel strong enough start again. It doesn't make you a bad person. You've got to be able to enjoy life even when you're losing weight.
Good luck and don't forget ENJOY that cake when you have it.

The reason your craving sweet things is cos you are completely cutting them out of your diet.
You need to remember this simple rule when dieting : be good 80% of the time and eat what you like for the other 20%.
A little bit of everything is fine

Here are some tips that will occupy you to be focused on your diet instead of wishing for that forkful of chocolate cake that your heart craves:
Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat. Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

I started using Stack Body Tune Up weight loss system and Advanced Cell Therapy energy drink on July 15, 2006 and have lost 35 pounds. On the second day, I didn't have any cravings. I didn't go to the snack machine like I used to.
If I can be of further assistance, let me know.
