Well see, here's the thing about that. Most of the people asking questions under the Religion section have already made up their mind about whatever they are asking about. In fact, they're really looking for people who believe like they do so that they will in turn, feel more secure about w/e belief that they hold. (Safety in numbers mentality)
As for which answer is right when these lengthy debates erupt, well that's why these debates have been in existence for so long, because one of the answers is right, but neither side will back down and consider the others point. So they continue arguing, and all the while they continue to make their own cause look bad. (in many cases, that is, I suppose others aren't held to any moral code, and therefore do not have to worry about making themselves look bad.)
It's really a shame because I would guess that in the midst of all of the hot heads there has got to be a few people who are actually turning to others for a little bit of guidance, and all that they are finding is contention.

I have answered several questions here on yahoo about religion and spirituality and even given scripture references. Unfortunately I feel that there a lot of people who would rather not have any questions on this subject. I personally hope that it does not keep those who have a question on the subject from asking. There are many seeking the truth and will be lost to it if we stop asking and answering those type of questions. I for one want people to know that God loves them, no matter what and He wants to know them better.
There are those who get rude and yes, hostile as soon as they read the question. They would be happier if they just did not read them. But, maybe they read them and get angry because they feel convicted? Only god knows that one.
I would rather just answer questions and not debate the word of God. God breathed it. It was recorded. The word stands for itself.

No, it isn't a place for boring debates. I think some folks are being smart alecs, while others are genuine in their questions. The only way to find the difference is to read the questions or those that disguise themselves as questions.

There are some real questions here, you just have to look around. Yeah, unfortunately, there is a lot of boring and pointless bickering going on here.
You have to keep an open mind......some of it is kind of funny.

I have seen some good questions but I have also seen lots of people just bashing each other or asking completely stupid and irrelevant questions. I try to answer the ones that are actually thought provoking.

Religion will always be a debate. As long as their are different views on any subject, it is open for debate. There is not one thing in exisitance that escapes a debate.

All the questions are real. People post questions, no matter how boring or old, because they want to get feedback from other people, for whatever reason. Isn't that why you posted your question?

Why even spend your day talking about spirituality or religion... I mean... That is supposed to be a personal thing... Everyone has there own beliefs and we should leave it that way

If you find it so, why are you here? No offense....but if you have real questions, ask them....knowing of course you will get a certain number of idiotic responses......or answer the questions asked with as much knowledge and honesty as you can muster.
Yes...there are idiots here....more than one could count...but that shouldn't prevent those of good will from participating with honesty and good faith.
