I have news for you. She is not being honest with you as to why she was arrested. She would be told at the time of arrest and it would be on her release papers which will also specify what day she needs to be in court to answer the charges. She knows, she doesn't want you to know. check your local newspaper it will be listed there. Or join her in court then you'll know for sure. You must be informed of the charges when you are arrested it is part of the Miranda Rights

After she was arrested there should have been a record made of it in a database that can be traceable merely through her name and vital numbers: i/e, she should be able to go just to the general vicinity of the arrest or -- if she feels uncomfortable there -- into her local police department to ask them to determine what she was held for. She has a license number and a social security number so she's easy to find in a system.

If she was intoxicated when she was originally read her rights, and then she later sobered, and was not reminded of why she was there to begin with or given an opportunity to get a lawyer, then there's a clear violation of her Miranda rights. If it protected that guy -- a disgusting rapist -- it should protect your friend.

She can obtain a copy of the arresting officer's report and any copies of records processed through the police or sheriff's department she was taken to.

Go to the jail where she was being held and ask for a copy of the police report. It would be better if your friend goes along with you. If you get no satisfactory results there go to the District Attorney's Office and ask them to look into the matter.

Go to the police department. She is the only one who can get a copy of the police report though. Unless you were there they will not give it to you. There is usually a small filing fee for the document as well. Tell your friend I said good luck.
