I use this trick anytime I need to loose that excess water weight quickly. Heat up tea water (but don't put a tea bag in the water). Instead get a lemon and squeeze the juice into the hot water and you're good to go. Hot lemon water always does the trick for me! Enjoy.

As dandelion leaves can be a bit tricky to get your hands on, especially in a city go for dandelion tea instead, and also nettle tea which is good. Do drink lots of water, the reason you get water retention is because your dehydrated and your cells are holding onto water, a bit like a camel! So reassure your body by drinking water.
AVOID CAFFEINE! it will make the water retention worse! And salad stuff is good. If you go to the loo loads because of your liquid intake eat brown rice, it holds lots of water but will go to the bowel rather than come out as urine. Hope this helps

Hi i usually put on a few pounds near the time of the month, and i bloatup, i tried a herbal diuretic tablet, called water balance and all they did was make me pee loads and they never took my water weight down.It depends usually with water retention it goes around your stomach and you will notice, but as you have but 5lbs on in one week its a bit drastic if you havent been over eating and just eating what you normally eat. Try cutting down your salt intake as i read up that if you have too much salt water is attracted to it which makes you bloat. See if it goes down in a week or so. If not try cutting down on portion size as not to over fill your stomach.

Hope you like salad. Two of the best natural diuretics are cucumber and celery. So eat them to excess, coffee is also good, however you have to drink it black for that to work, and of course water, but don't drink it excessively, just sip at it, rather than drinking a full glassful all in one go. All in all, you are what you eat, if certain foods cause you to feel bloated and you gain weight, try those Activia yoghurts, they really work for me.
Good luck

dandylions used to have the nickname 'piss-a-bed' because their leaves are believed to be diuretic. dandylion leaves are very bitter but are delicious in a salad if put with something to contrast
ive heard oranges are also diuretic, and as above, caffeine

Some foods that contain natural diuretics are cranberries and cranberry juice, coffee and other beverages that contain caffeine, and apple cider vinegar.

well if u fancy a bowl of parsley thats the best stuff for you!!! but if you don't fancy that just cut down your salt intake if its high and drink plenty of water to flush out. but it has to be gradual over the day and between 2 to 3 litres.if you don't regularly suffer with this it will balance itself out..... plus u may be constipated and the water will help that aswell!!!
