My mum showed me how to wash and set my permed hair on medium to large size rollers along with a good setting lotion
This usually gave me the medium to loose curly effect that i wanted and got rid of the tight curls that the perm produced
However I had to roller set my hair each time I washed it to ensure that my hair had the curl that I wanted
Since then I have never permed my hair and only roller set it when I want to acheive either waves or curls

you can go to the nearest beautician school and ask the manager to solve your problem. Sometimes you can loosen the curl with first putting on the initial lotion you used and then using the fixator and when the level is reached then wash it out.
You need to know though that a tighter and curlier perm will relax somewhat in a few weeks after a few washings.
Also, some "conditioner" will relax it too.
Sometimes you can get into problems in that you can take most of the curl out leaving the hair listless (and then you can't re-perm over that till it grows out).
My suggestion is to wait till you have washed it a few times and use large curlers on it to get the curl you want.

Well get a Permanent at any store if you can't buy one at a Beauty Salon. Buy one for treated hair,(light bleached or permed).,, it will not be as harsh ok?? Now mix the solution, put some rubber gloves on, and gently work the solution in to your hair., take a large(large!!) tooth comb & gentle comb the perm thru your hair. Leave it on probably no more than 10 min(if you want all the curl to be gone), and then rinse thoroughly, and apply a very "good" conditioner., leave it on for about 30 min. Rinse and then blow dry or set. Listen your hair is going to be very dry(i mean very dry) and seem course. Get a "hot" oil treatment, and do this again in about 2 wks. Your hair will start to be more normal every shampoo. Hey the next time, you get a home perm, remember big curler rods make looser curls, ok?? Hey, and don't put a straightener on it, it could make your hair break off, or fall out. please!!!!!!!!!

You can buy a relaxer at the store and do it yourself or you can get it relaxed at a salon. If you go to a salon it might cost you a pretty penny but there is another opition. Ever think about a beauty college? I used to work at one and even though they are students learning, there is always a teacher right by. If you go to a college the price is about half of what you pay at the salon. They might take a little longer too but it is worth is when you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it.
If you are still a little worried about it just know taht the teachers will never let you leave looking stupid. They will even do a deep conditioning to help bring your hair back to life because of all the chemicals that will go into your hair so fast.

The best solution is to let your hair relax on its own, but you can help this along by shampooing and conditioning it daily. If you cannot wait, purchase a perm from the store and comb the waving solution through until the curls are straight, then rinse and comb the nutralizer through and leave that on for 5 minutes before rinsing.
Please be aware that your hair will be damaged from both the first perm and the relaxing of it, so you will need to deep condition it frequently. A final piece of advice:Do not purchase hair relaxer for ethinic hair to attempt relaxing yours after the perm. It will totally fry your hair.

well if it was just yesturday , this being wed oct19th, then all you need to do to it to loosen the tight curl is to shampoo it!! Te reason i say this is that when you get a perm you are supposed to wait 48 hrs before shampooing your hair or the curl will relax!! so give this a try, but remember to condition the hair very well right away ok! Maybe leave the condition in a litle will like 5 mins to protecr the hair from any damage ok!! Give it a try!!!

OK I am a professional hair dresser, and your getting some crazy advise except the person who said ! let it rest. If your hair is strong enough after the first process then you can reapply the perm solution and comb it Through your hair for the recommended time rise and than neutralize this won't completely remove it but it will relax significantly! Good luck LOL

try using the same perm you put in but this time instead of rolling with the curlers comb the hair straight during process time and you should be good to go....my mom's a beautician... you can always just loosen the perm by washing it 5 or 6 times.

Conditioner, Conditioner, conditioner. It should weigh the curls down some. Don't wash too much or get wet, that will make it curlier. Just give it time and try to wear it back as much as possible. Good luck! Let us know how it goes..
