I am pro-life, and I believe in spaying and neutering. Lower animals are not made in God's image, though they have souls (intelligence, emotion, and will) up to a point. It is human life that is sacred, though we should be kind to other creatures.

However, I believe the motive should be to prevent homeless animals rather than to make our pets more amenable to human control. Not that I have always followed this myself!

You cannot equate the spaying/neutering of pets with aborting a human baby. When you abort a human infant, you are killing a human life that has already been created. When you remove the reproductive organs of an animal you are preventing it from ever conceiving, thus not having unwanted kittens and puppies left to starve or being mistreated. You're really reaching here, trying to compare these 2 issues. Get real!

I AM SO HAPPY YOU ASKED THIS!
i feel that it serves the animals well-being by doing this.
although,i would not consider this a pro life issue.
for the simple fact that no life has been aborted.
you are simply preventing the animal from getting pregnant.
it also says in the bible that man has been given Dominion upon animals.
i also disagree with the other answer that stated animals don't have souls.
i firmly believe with all my heart that i will see my Sheena when i get to heaven.
God Bless

Neocon anti abortionists seldom care about life other than the almighty human animal -- and only until it's born, as a rule; after that they don't want their taxes raised to support free lunches and welfare programs for poor kids. Nor do they object to, as a rule, convicted criminals on death row being put to death. Many anti abortionists enjoy hunting; making animals suffer and killing them is "sport" to them.

What a great question!!! When I got my dog "fixed" people asked me how I could do that. I told them that since I did it to myself, I didn't feel too bad about it. By the way I am pro-choice and my daughter will be 28 next month. That's what "choice" is all about. You have a choice!

Because adults have the ability, and correctly so, to distinguish between human life and animal life. One is sacred, the other isn't.

I think it's only human life they're concerned about in that instance--after all, not all anti-choice people are vegans.

They don't care, there is no glory or political gain from telling people they are Anti-choice for animals

No, because animals are not created in the image and likeness of God.
