Great answer above, but I would also like to point out that taking lithium as prescribed by your doctor includes getting blood tests often. It is easy to wreck your organs and/or reach toxic blood levels while taking this drug. Therefore, I would NOT RECOMMEND you self-medicate.

US Brand Names: Serenity, Life Link, NCI Advanced Research, Atrium Nutrition

Generic name: Lithium orotate

Pros: Allegedly it has no side effects. But that turns out to be a lie (see below).

Cons: No real documentation that it actually works. Has side effects after all. Is potentially harder on your kidneys and is more expensive than lithium carbonate.

you can go to the vet and they can give you the meds. If the vet knows you well then all you have to do is go there and tell them your dog has tapeworms. Some will make you bring them in so they can get a fecal exam and make sure it don't have anymore kinds of worms. If your dog is prone to getting tape worms then this means you have a flea problem and need to try to get rid of the fleas. the tape worm comes from a flea that the dog has eaten. tape worms you will find little rice grain looking things around the dogs butt or where it sleeps normally.
