Only certain airlines will even entertain the thought of shipping animals. I know that Continental will (I've mailed a cat and a large dog through them and they were very good) and I think that US Air will as well. You'll need to call individual airlines for their rules and regs regarding.

Either way, you need a crate that is big enough. I think it is like 3x the size of the animal. Again, the airline will be able to help best!

you can no longer 'mail' animals such as dogs, cats etc. you have to find an independent company that does this for a living, its very expensive. but go to the u.s. postal service website and i am pretty sure they have a number you can call, i don't think they list specific info on their site.
