The tape recorder is a 4 track reel to reel tape and I have hundreds of records on it, but I would like to save them and have them transferred on to a CD. Does anyone know where or how I can get this done.

Try some of these websites. Hope you're in the UK. I just put 'reel to reel transfer' into Google and this is what it came up with.

Usually record stores (especially ones that sell instruments can help you). In Connecticut - Ricardos, and Integrity in music will take your reel to reels and copy them. If you have music studios, they'll probably do it for a fee.

Try your local theater or art schools too. They have music departments who can at least put you in touch with the right people, even better would be setting you up with a student who does stuff like this for fun. We had a local college kid majoring in computers set up our website for us. Took him about 2 hours, and saved us a lot of time/money and frustration. Best of all, he wouldn't take any money, so instead we sent him a huge care package. Give it a try.

does it have a 5 pin din output socket round the back... if so you can connect it to a minidisc/cd recorder and copy tapes that way...
(look after the machine, as they are worth a fortune in good condition) x
