Dogs sense of smell is thousands of times better than humans. There are probably all sorts of smells on these objects perceptible only by dogs, some of which may smell like food to the dog.

I think it's normal. My dog(when given the chance)would eat the cat poo right out of the litter box! also, there might still be nutrients left in the poo that we don't know about. As for the sweaty clothing, Part of what makes up sweat is salt, animals like to lick up salt.

i think it's normal. They smell you on it... kinda like how they sniff eachother's bottoms. I know my dog ate some of my clothing (pants) and would dig unpleasant things out of the trash. It stopped though when she got a bit older.

Our dog does that too. I sort of think first of all it is the smell, sort of like them sniffing out other dogs and stuff. Another thing is, it has like our scent on it, sort of like a dog sniffing on you. It is a normal thing, you just have to make sure doors stays close and stuff. Good luck.

What seems gross to us doesn't seem gross to them.
