Ummm sounds to me like she is acting like "carrie" from Sex and the city. Carrie wore it around her neck because she wasn't completley ready to hang up her single life. The wedding ring is supposed to signify that your taken. Your brother shoud tell his fiance to put the ring on her finger or give it back. Personally there is no reason to not want to wear it on her finger unless she doesn't want people to know she is engaged. Give your brother some advice on this and try to watch the episode of sex and the city where carrie wears her ring around her neck.... it really seems true. ..... ps carrie ended up breaking off the engagment.

He needs to find out if she's allergic to the materials in the ring.
My dad bought my mom a white gold ring for their anniversary, but there is no such thing as "white gold." It's yellow gold mixed with either nickel or platinum. The ring he had bought was part nickel, and it made my mom's hand break out in blisters.
My body ate the finish off of TWO sterling silver (925 silver) promise rings that I had before my engagement ring.
So that could be it. She may be pregnant and have swollen fingers. If there's some other reason, he may want to reconsider the wedding.

Some girls just don't like rings because, they make them feel uncomfortable. I'm one of those girls.
But, if she is someone who doesn't really mind rings or wears them pretty often, then it IS strange that she's not wearing her engagement ring. It could be that it does not fit her finger or she's not ready to make a commitment.

Does she has any activities that may interfere with wearing the ring on her finger? I've seen many men wear their wedding rings on necklaces if they have jobs where it may get ruined or get their hand stuck (auto mechanics, etc). She's still wearing it so I wouldn't worry. Some people just don't like wearing rings.

Well, is she pregnant and she is too swollen to wear it right now? Or are they really too young to be engaged, and she thinks its "cute"?
Personally, I would find that quite insulting, and I think he needs to tell her that he would like her to wear it on her hand. If she doesn't, maybe she isn't ready for that kind of commitment, and your brother should call it off.

Well, maybe it doesn't fit (pregnant, wrong size??). My husband and I bought my setting. We had it sized for me. By the time he proposed, I had broken my ankle and was swollen from an accident. It just didn't fit. I think it would be obvious if that's what was this girls problem.
Has he asked her? If she hasn't offered a reason, it's time to ask her.

Maybe she is pregnant, with swollen fingers that happens, and another reason would be you dont want someone to know you are engaged.

Your brother should ask her instead of you. Although to me that seems to be answer to the question. He asked you instead of her, a clear indication that he's either too young or to insensitive to be getting married

It would be easier if you or him ask her why she does it, only she knows the real reason, we can just speculate.
