Are we not judging an entire religion based on a select few that were extreme enough to make the news? Also: how many of you have actually read the Qur'an or talked to a Muslim who follows it to the letter instead of listening to the (false) preachings of others? How would you like it if an influential group did the same to Christianity - just basing their judgements on the followers of, say, the KKK?

Jihad...jihad....oh, yes i do remember that one. Greater Jihad has to do with living one's life in accordence to G-d's word. Lesser Jihad (the one all you who mention it seem to be focussed on) has to do with getting the world to practice the same faith. The majority of the Muslims that i know (myself included) do not participate in the Lesser Jihad.

The western people on the whole do not hate muslims. But the media does and yes it is a select few that are causing the terrorism and ultimately leading the facist media to beleive all non whites are evil.

When actually it is the media that have got it wrong, if they were to report in a non-biased way then the West would not be hating.

It's time the media were held to account and the vast benefits that people from other cultures offer the Western countries were really illustrated.

Long live multi-culturalism and multi-faith societies in the Western world.

The West is a big place. We don't ALL hate Muslims, ya know. And hate is such an ugly word.

I do own a copy of the Quran. It's on top of my copy of the christian Bible, in the same stack as the Bagavaghita, the Satanic Bible, the Necronomicon and .... Well, you get the idea. I study all religions for my own edification. Not just their "holy" books, either. I just finished reading "Stealing Jesus - How Fundamentalism Betrays Christianity" by Bruce Bawer.

I honestly feel if everyone studied more and had at least a small amount of understanding of religions other than their own, the world would be a better place.

I'm an atheist. I hate no one -- not even folk like Hitler. I hate what some people DO and what some people BELIEVE, but I will not allow myself to hate another human being who is just doing what I am -- the best they can with what's in front of them.

That said -- I hate Islam. I have read the Qu'ran in three different english interpretations. Having read it and glanced over some hadith, I find conclusive evidence that Islam provides nonmuslims three choices:

1. Convert
2. Pay jizya (submission tax) and be second class citizens
3. Die

And forget #2 if you're not a Jew or Christian, that one's only for the people of the Book.

There are millions of peaceful muslims in the world... and according to the Qu'ran, they are damned for not being willing to engage in Jyhad of the Mind/pen *AND* Jyhad of the sword.

Peaceful my @$$.

But you are judging the entire west as hating Muslims is O.K.?

We in the west do NOT hate all Muslims, Muslims are free to worship here, preach in out schools and Prisons here. That is not hate.

We are against RADICAL Islam the ones that impose Shara law on all people, stone women and kill people for leaving the faith. The ones that want to kill us.

And by the way, the KKK is a much smaller group than Radical Islam. Not that it matters.

Peace and God Bless.

Huge difference. The KKK is a much denounced and derided fringe group that is not even considered Christian by anyone but themselves and those who want to use it to bash Christianity.
What do you see from the Muslim world about terrorism? Dancing in the streets after every major attack. Muslims can get worked up and riot in the millions over something they saw in the funny pages but there's not a peep from them about terrorists killing in their name. The obvious conclusion is that terrorism in their religion's name doesn't bother them because they support it.
I've never heard a Muslim say that terrorism is always wrong. Even the ones who represent themselves as 'moderate' always put a 'but' at the end and try to justify it.
The evidence is overwhelming that most Muslims support terrorism. I wish it weren't so but I've got to go where the evidence leads.

Well I am jewish (not religious) and I have had a relationship with a Muslim man...I know not all Muslims are bad as in any type of religion...it just depends on the person themselves. You have to take the chance to get to know someone...one-on-one...Unfortunately people are grouped together, it's always been like that...and hopefully the smart people know that and will get to know the person for who they are and not what religion they follow

As a Christian I feel I am more than qualified to answer your questions. Let me start by saying that yes I have read the Qur'an. Have you read the Bible? From your statement it is obvious you have not read much history or you would know that Christians, as well as, many other religious groups have suffered from hatred, and judgement. I can also state, as a Christian that I don't hate muslims. I don't agree with agree with them but I don't hate them. Sounds to me like you are the one who is making a judgement based on....what?

I have actually read a large portion of the quran to educate myself and I believe that you too should read it. There are many hateful words in their holy book. "Convert or kill all Kaphirs." Kaphirs being non-believers. Also, anyone who publicly speaks against islamic beliefs is slammed with a phatwa on them. I think I spelled that right. It is not a religion, it is a cult. Go to faithfreedom.com
It is a website developed by ex-muslims from the east. They started to study their own releigion and realized it is a religion of hatred. So now their goal is to end the religion(cult).

I believe that the western, approach to spirituality differes so greatly from the eastern that they are not tolerant of eastern belief. I am a first year theology, philosophy student and my major is concerning east vs west. From my continueing studies I can conclude that the eastern objectivs in spirituaity differs, in that they are not trying to reach god, or heaven, rather they are more concerned with reaching an enlightment which will allow them to surpass the cycle of life death and god. This difference entirely changes the way that a eastern mind would even approach day to day life. That is why in the east discpline is so very well kept while the in the west things are more relaxed. Also the west their objective is to reach god and heaven, and because of this huge difference there is going to be intolerance.

If you had a vineyard would you seek a grape?I have no need of the Quran I have the true word of God. I have a personal relationship with the one true God through Jesus Christ who was God with us. Who came to the world to be tempted and to overcome sin and who died as atonement for all who accept his atonement. There is no false prophet who could lure me away from the truth. You should consider the teachings of the Bible and not be swayed by a false teacher The words of the Prophets are not corrupt and the words of the false prophet Muhammed are leading men astray from the truth that Jesus Christ is our only salvation.
