I mean, the Christians in this country turn into cheerleaders every time the republicans want to make war on someone, doesn't even matter if the reason is valid or not. I guess the bombing and bloodshed makes for great after-church TV, sad.

True Christians do not love violence. Jesus showed at John 13:35 that love would be an identifying mark of true Christianity. A true Christian would never go to war or involve himself in brutal sports like boxing or wrestling. Also, true Christians do not get involved with politics. Jesus said at John 15:19 that his followers would be no part of this world. True Christians remain neutral to this world's affairs.

Please don't lump all Christians in one group. Just because a person says he is, goes to a church building or even prays a lot doesn't mean that he follows the teachings of Christ. I think even you know that this isn't a good question really. Perhaps if you asked why some people who call themselves Christians behaved as they do you could actually convict them into doing something positive like assessing their beliefs, and finding out the truth about what it means to really be a Christian - which is not loving violence, as you point out. Many politicians wave religion as a banner to get votes, and then somehow convince the ignorant that they are acting in their best interest. That is sad - incredibly sad. I feel sad that so many people who are not believers see the ignorant and foolish who claim to believe and then attribute their foolishness to even the ones who are living peacefully and well in this world. Anger and fear and ignorance all go hand in hand - when one of these rears its head, the others are bound to be there too. Please don't be one of the foolish, ignorant ones, calling names in anger. Even those who don't believe in a God know what's most appropriate to live well.

ok, no longer all christians are the very similar. some christians from each and every united states love conflict. i'm an episcopalian and that i hate conflict. it truly is really judgmental and generalizing to easily say that american christians love conflict. some human being human beings love conflict and some human being human beings hate conflict; it truly is a hallmark of thier personality, no longer thier faith.

I'm a Christian and I hate violence. I'm anti-war too. Most Americans I know are also anti-war.
