I want gifts which represent America. Something really American. Anything, any price. Hmm... Hard to choose. I need your help!

PS. They are her parents and her sister. If you know about Japanese culture, do you think I should buy gifts to her cousins also?

What about American Indian pottery, weavings, or baskets? I think the general sensibility of Japanese people means that this kind of gift would be much appreciated.

You can see some beautiful ones online (I particularly love the pottery from the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico).

There is nothing more truly American than Indian artwork. Here's a link to a nice site that offers pottery and other stuff:

Perhaps you can take some smaller gifts for her extended family. Perhaps small picture books of the area YOU come from. Or one of the USA as a whole.

You're right, a lot of women don't know what they want or what kind of guy they want to be in a relationship with. I think these are the women trying very hard to be in a relationship, rather then being patient with love. They settle for a fling. Which is nice, I guess, and can blossom into something more. But it doesn't really hold a candle to actual "LOVE" Okay, so you haven't met the right girl. You know it's not the end of the world. Like the old saying goes" There's plenty of fish in the sea" I admire that you are seeking a serious relationship with someone. It's not easy to do when you are in the "dating scene" But if you start getting frustrated over it like you are doing now. You are only going to wreck yourself. "...her friends tell her that I'm the perfect guy, but the girl I'm interested in says the same thing about being mr. Perfect but just doesn't feel like there is anything." I don't understand that either, and I've witnessed this happen to someone I know so many times. Not a man, but a women. She's met nothing but bad news guys, fallen for them, and then ends up being heart broken. If you are "Mr. Perfect" PLEASE, stay that way. Don't stop being nice.

Just buy for the parents. Say a nice tasteful fruit bowl. Or perhaps a traditional English coffee set. They appreciate traditional things from England.

To most Japanese, America means New York, so how about I ♡ N.Y. T-shirts or sweatshirts?
