Yes, there are disposable diapers for newborns. You can also buy cloth diapers in the US, just like in India. There is a type of diapers called "pampers swaddlers" that are very good for newborns. You could try going to Wal-Mart or Target, and ask a nice person who works there to help you and make sure you are getting the right size. Cheaper diapers tend to not work as well.

All of the diapers that you will find in any store wherever you are will have disposable diapers. Disposable diapers are definitely you're best bet. They are fine for newborns and a lot more practical.
I just had my first child three months ago and I tried all the different brands. Pampers, Huggies, Swaddler, and the one I liked the best was Luvs. They are great, never had a leak problem and are very soft. They should work out great.
I don't know about making diaper wipes. I guess you could wet some paper towels with warm water (I do that when I am out of diaper wipes and haven't made it to the store yet). But you can get a bunch of diaper wipes in a package that will be right beside the diapers. (Again, they will be at pretty much every store you go to. Walmart, a grocery store, a pharmacy)
I dont know much about any websites that you can go to but you can always email me at ms_sanchez12001@yahoo.com if you have any more questions. I would be happy to help you and your little one.
Congradulations and good luck.

I think that disposable diapers are great. They are very absorbent and help keep the baby dry. They do make a size for newborns. All the diapers are sized by the child's weight. I think any of the major brands, Huggies, Pampers or Luvs are good. Go to Wal-Mart they have low prices on baby stuff.
If your child develops a rash that won't go away, they may be allergic to them, but that's not too common. I have only known of one or two people who had allergy problems, and they also had problems with laundry detergents and soaps.
You can always use cloth diapers. There is nothing wrong with that, they are just a lot more work for you, and the disposables work great.

Not all diapers are created equal. pampers are really expensive, but if you can afford them go ahead. Luvs are great, but I found a great brand at HEB grocery stores. It's HEB brand diapers. They wick away the moisture and have dissapearing paw prints so you can 'see' when the baby is wet. They have newborn to size 6.
If you don't have an HEB near you, I suggest Luvs or Huggies, they are just as good as Pampers, if not better.
Sorry, didn't see that last question. Yes, you can make baby wipes at home. Use a thick high quality paper towel, like "Viva" by Kleenex. Cut the roll in half, making two tubes. Remove the tubes from the middle of the rolls.
Soak the rolls in water that is mixed with 1 tablespoon baby shampoo, and 1 tablespoon baby oil.
You can keep them in a tightly closed container, and use as needed. If they get too dry, just add a little water.

Diapers are sold in sizes according to weight. I tried a few brands of disposible diapers before I found a brand I liked and didn't bother baby's skin. As someone else mentioned, you can use cloth diapers if that is what you prefer.
You can go to any of the stores mentioned and buy the size for "newborn" and you can switch if you don't like them!
It is possible to make baby wipes at home, but you can also buy them, and again I tried a few different brands before we found a brand we liked.
I added a link with just some very basics for baby care.
Congratulations, good luck and welcome to the US!!

Cloth diapers are cheaper and better for the environment so you might want to consider a diaper service if one exists near you (they're a lot of work if you have to wash them yourself). We used cloth unless we were traveling until we got lazy.
Disposable diapers come in newborn size and the hospital will probably give you enough to last a few days. Then you can get them from Wal-mart or a store like that or the grocery store. Anyplace you can get formula will have disposable diapers.
Congratulations.

Pampers Swadlers! They are soft and tiney enough for their little baby butt. I never used cloth diapers with my son and he did just fine. Just do a search on baby stuff. There is a wealth of information out there for new moms. Boudreaux's Butt Paste is the best diaper rash creme. I know it sounds like a joke, but it works great. The store bought wipes are fine and gentle on baby's bottom, but it could save you some money on wipes if you made your own. Just be careful not to irritate baby's skin. Don't worry, you will do fine and remember that we all make mystakes that is how we learn. Good luck and congrats!

Oh, honey, there is so much to learn & if you have a computer, you have an endless supply of info. There are many number of diapers for newborns. Personally, I used cloth for awhile until the umbilical cord fell off with my 1st & all disposible for my 2nd. It's all a personal preference thing, but good luck anyway, & Bless you.

You can get clothe diapers just about anywhere; Walmart, target, etc. A lot of the people here use disposable diapers. Huggies, pampers, Luvs are all good diapers. Yes you can make baby wipes at home. Bounty paper towels, baby wash, baby oil, water, mix and use. (Cut paper towel roll in half before mixing with ingredients)

Hi there! excited about your baby eh? OBVIOUSLY! Anyways,
"Huggies" are always best for babies but than some babies could be allergic to certain diapers whether the diapers are pricey or cheap. You could always find diapers in grocery stores,
pretty much anywhere. ME as a FIRST NATIONS, we were brought up cheap, my mom and grandmother used to use cloth diapers on me 'cause we weren't exactly rich. but i have a son who will be 3 in January and I tried to use cloth diapers because i wanted to budget, but that never worked for me. You could also look into parenting programs in your location rather than looking at sites because parenting programs have better education with baby care and how to be a positive parent. I know because i was in parenting programs( two programs right now) and they are so good and very helpful and lots of babies and kids for your baby to interact with. hope you found my advice helpful or something. hope all is flourished, good luck with you and your lovely baby.
