Let's just say I am a person that believes in god but I'm not sure which religion teaches about the right god. What's your religion and how do you know it is true?

follow your heart after Prayer and Meditation. personally have a problem with any religious belief system who shoves their beliefs down anyones throat. there are many paths and ways to get to ones destination and none are better than another. GOD is to big to be in only one place. my personal belief system is basically Christian with what I consider good ideas from other religions added along with Native American and other Ancient Ways for good measure. this system works for me but doubt if it would for anyone else.

Okay, I will say you are a person that believes in God. You seem to be searching for a religion. First and foremost you must be able to separate 'religion' from your true spirituality. What does that mean? Religions are man made interpretations of what God is all about and what God wants you to believe, act, and think. Spirituality is the direct relationship you have with your creator. Once you have firmly established this relationship if you have a deep faith, your creator will lead you in the right direction and it may or may not include some man made organization that we tag 'religion'.

Choosing a religion would be like choosing your parents. It will affect how you see the world and what you believe your role is in it. It is obviously an important decision.

Since your question asks "know it is true." I think that you believe as I do that the contradictory teachings of the various churches cannot all represent the Truth. I also believe that the Truth is what allows us to develop a closer relationship with God.

Your personal relationship with God in this life and the next is the matter of utmost importance in choosing a faith. I also believe that it is a good way to determine if the church you belong to is true.

Does your church bring you closer to God? Do you feel the Holy Spirit in your church? Do you feel peace in your church? Do the teachings make sense to you?

Prayer can aid in finding a church, of course. God wants us to learn about him and learn how to become better people.

"If any of you lack bwisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him..."

There's no right god or right religion. If there is a god, he/she/it would be the same one that everyone prays to. We all just use different ways to connect to the spiritual. Some of us meditate, some of us need something solid to look at -books to read and prayers to be spoken. Just go by your gut. Every faith's got its good and bad. Just be kind, and remember that god made everyone and everything, so respect the world and its creatures.

P.S. You don't have to follow any religion by the book. Pick out what feels right to you. Any religion that tells you to hate (or that half the world's little kids will end up rotting in hell :P) may need some work.

I studied Bible, i studied AlQurran, i read about Buddhism and even kabbalah.
All are center back to you...your heart. Use your heart.
From those above, i've found 1 which represent the Lord's most beauty, amazing LOVE, the truthful LIGHT.
Sometimes religion is not important. There're plenty fake teachings...
But believe in Lord the God is utmost. Use your heart to pray. Morallity is more important than religion.
Remember to always ask for God's help in everything you do. Go to your room and pray in your heart, sincerely and humble. And The Lord which unseen by eyes will answer you.

May God Bless you and nourish you...

The litmus test for the true religion is in the concept of God.

As a Muslim, I can tell you that in Islam, the concept of God is very simple. Here is a small Chapter in the Quran that summarizes the concept of God:

THE UNITY, SINCERITY, ONENESS OF GOD, CHAPTER NO. 112

112.001 Say: He is God, the One and Only;
112.002 God, the Eternal, Absolute;
112.003 He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
112.004 And there is none like unto Him.

God is One, The Creator, Perfect in his attributes with no human attributes. He is the Most Merciful. He is the God of all the prophets including Adam, Noah, Jesus, Moses, Muhammad to name a few (peace be upon them all).

When it simply clicks.

If you are a thinking person read "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website. It is a fast growing knowledge about God and the Universe shared by the thinking people. Sooner than anyone may think, it will replace the religions with the sheer power of its logical argument.

If you're looking for a religious path, I suggest you do some soul-searching and research into a few different religions to see which one feels right to you. And there's no such thing as the "right" god. All gods are one god, just different aspects.

My religion is Paganism and it is not the one valid path for all people. But it feels right for me personally, and that's why I chose it.

Blessed be.

I'm believe as my ancestors did. I'm native american, Cherokee and Scottish, Irish.
If your searching you'll find what is best for you. Just keep an open mind. Yet keep one foot outside encase you got to run.lol
I looked at most of the main stream ones, but I knew I did not need them to have God's blessing.
I also did investigation into cult/occults as part of my work.
