I don't know if their is proper etiquette regarding the purchase of the mans wedding ring. This is what I did. My husband and I both went and bought him a band, when we went to pick out my actual wedding band. Since he is hard on his hands, due to work we choose a really simple black titanium ring that is supposed to be indestructible. It totally suited him, plus he could wear it to work without worrying about it getting ruined. He thought that was going to be his ring. What I did was I went out and custom built a ring for him, behind his back. Three circular cut black diamonds set in a wide white gold band. At the alter when the pastor asked for the rings, he assumed I would be getting his black band from my sister and instead I pulled out this gorgeous new band. He was so shocked and the look on his face was priceless. It was definitely worth the extra $750 I spent. I guess it is totally up to you. :) Good Luck and Congratulations.

The groom is supposed to buy the rings and pay for the honeymoon in a traditaioanl set up. My fiance and I already live together and are paying for the entire wedding ourselces, so we bought our bands together. Hey on EBAY! Nice nice rings for a fraction of the cost.

When your getting married, usually by then you both should be helping out with finances, even though your not living together yet. My fiance and I are both paying the our rings. He bought my ring, but since he went for a really big diamond, I help him with monthly payments on it. We have a saving account together, so we are going to use that money to pay for his ring. At this point you both should be helping each other out financially with whatever you can, its both of your money now. So if he is strapped for cash and you have it, help him out and vise versa. Good Luck

Tradition says the wife to be buys the ring. But if you buy the bridal set, it comes with engagement ring, and both bands, or just both bands, then y'all match!
That's what my husband and I did.

I think normally each person pays for each other's ring. However I do think both should go pick them out together. You wouldn't want a spouse to feel like they're stuck with an ugly ring for (hopefully) forever. :)
