if all you can carry is a 20oz then the companies making the prodcut will try and get every cent out of you as possible. its inpracticle to walk around with a 2 liter and the companies know that. typically you buy a 2 liter bottle for use at home to be poured into glasses, where the 20oz is made for on the go; no need for a cup. Its just the companies trying to get more money out of you just because you want something that you can carry and walk around with.

The soda companys are just going with the money coming in. Like you say the 2 liters are always on sale but the 20oz. are just convenient. You more than likely go for the convenience and not the price.

20oz. sodas are usually kept in refrigerators. The refrigeration adds to the cost. You can get 6-packs of bottles in the regular soda aisle that are much more bang for your buck. Also when cans are on sale 4/$10 or less, they're pretty comparable to buying a 2 liter. I did the math.

Your paying for the refrigeration, If your drinking a soda going down the road buy your soda and refrigerate it for the week. Compare the cost of a six pack of 20 oz soda usually two dollars versus six for 1.29 it's a no brainer.

That's precisely their marketing strategy - you will buy the more expensive one to travel with or tote along with you. Or, do as our family does - just transfer the pop from the 2 liter into a clean smaller bottle and cap tight!

I think it's because the 2 liter doesn't sell as well; it goes flat faster. By the way, do you know if they still make Vanilla Coke?

That is exactly why they are hardly never on sale. Because to cola companies know that out of convienience, your gonna buy the smaller one.
