I would say Toronto or the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) since I myself have lived in Toronto my whole life and I'm a proud Torontonian. Toronto is a great city with a lot to do. Toronto is the economic centre of Canada and has plenty of jobs. A house in Toronto goes for around $200,000 and up. There are plenty of townhouses, apartments and condos in and around the city with rents in apartments as low as $750 per month. Toronto has booming entertainment district around the yonge and queen area. Like any city in the world toronto does have problems but living here you love the city and never want to leave it. People here are friendly and are willing to help a person in need. Toronto is a diverse city and said to be more diverse than New York City. I'm not forcing you to move to Toronto but as a whole Canada is a great country and I'm proud to be a Canadian. Toronto may not be right for you it all depends on what you like and where you feel comfortable. Good Luck on living the Canadian Dream!

Every place in Canada has its goods and bads. Alberta is booming right now, but the cost of living is somewhat high as well. BC/Vancouver is the same. Pricey but it is nice. On the other hand, Toronto is pricey too. If you check out some areas just outside of the main cities you might be surprised at the lower cost of living. For example, hamilton ontario (an hour from toronto), a house can go for 150,000 where in toronto the same house would go for double easy. It's the same as in Vancouver. Drive an hour away and its different.
If you move to anywhere in Quebec, you better be ready to speak french. It is hard to get a job unless you are fluent in francais.
Figure out why you want to move and what exactly you are interseted in living near, mountains, lakes, oceans, tourist areas, country living, etc. Pick 3 top places you'd like to move to in Canada and research them. Visit the area before you make a huge jump like that. Like someone above me said, you get taxed out the wazoo up here for anything! You pay taxes on taxes, then get taxed at income tax time for stuff you already been taxed on. Be ready to curse your heart out over that!

Live in Alberta, right now the economy is booming and costs are still down.
That or the Yukon, the Yukon is an amazing, and a beautiful place. Either way I hope you like snow!
Good Luck.
P.S. try looking at sites like rentfaster.ca for housing costs, and check out the provincial or city websites that might give you some better ideas.

Wherever u live in Canada it is expenese...
1. cos of the strong currency rate
2. due to taxes that are imposed even on basic necessities like food n clothing n shelter
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In toronto if you get paid 8 dollars for an hour you cud be doing the same job in vancouver for 15 dollars an hour cos of the living costs there...
If you considering canada, calgary is an easy place to find a job in. It is foretold to be the future city of canada. It is beautiful too. Calgary, the winter is harsh. Edmonton is an easy place to find job in case u r an engineer.
Hamilton is a nice place quiet and beautiful up the mountain!! n taxes are lower here too... so i would say it is upto u.

I spent a lot of time in Toronto and in Montreal. I like Montreal. It's very cheap and Georgoues. But to work, you really need to speak french.
If you don't speak french, DONT GO TO MONTREAL. Go to Toronto
Vancouver is above Seattle so you have to deal with Rain

When I was out in the Calgory - Edmonton area, I was told that they are desparate for most all job categories, especially any kind of skilled labor, trades, and educators.
If I didn't have family here, I'd be gone in a heart beat.
Good luck

I would have to say Toronto because I am a Torontonean, but if you are looking to move to Ontario I would have to say Brampton it is the fastest growing city in Ontario or Barrie The cost of houses are low and the homes are big!
