I'm asking because after 4 months in a nursing home, my Dad's really broken. Should I still bring him home if I can?

Wow, that's quite the leap. Is he that miserable in a nursing home? I mean, it's not usually Auschwitz... but if you are emotionally and financially capable, and it's what he wants and what you want and what's best for your family, bring him home. All of those things are of the utmost importance. As far as the concentration camps? If you could ask them I'm sure they would tell you that knowing briefly before they died that it was over was a great relief. Freedom even if it's just for the last moment is preferable to dying as a prisoner.

Well I dont get the meaning of your question, but Patton and his 7th army got stucked somewhere in western Bohemia, could not move any further to help Prague, where people were being still killed by the nazis.
Prague had to wait for the Russians.
Liberation of concentration camps was correct, the only way to rescue at least some of the prisoners.
Blame the nazis.
